john-weir-right-way-up1108.jpgWhen John Weir turned up for his intermediate course at Rivington, with a fully ridged 15 year old Raleigh Dune Dancer I new we were in for an interesting day. With heavy rain, sleet and the odd burst of snow before lunch, mountain bikers were as rare as rocking horse nuggets. After reaching the Pigeon Tower we swapped bikes while John perfected his drop off technique. As the weather came in again we made a quick dash back to the car park using a section of the Common Wealth games route, John using my bike and me on the Dune Dancer! It wasn’t Strictly Dune Dancing on the fully ridged more like I’m a Celebrity get Me Out of Here!!!!! Once my eyes stopped rolling around my head, and my white finger syndrome wore off i could see that John was smiling from ear to ear. After lunch we headed off to Healy Nab where John put my bike to good use again riding all of the steps with ease. Well done Mate!
